| | Concerts - Cathy Morris - 06/18/05 | | Cathy Morris, an electric jazz violinist based in Indianapolis, and her band gave three free late-afternoon concerts in the Sunken Garden of Garfield Park, Indianapolis, in the summer of 2005. These images are from the first show in that "Music in the Garden" series, held on Saturday, June 18, 2005. The stage faced the west at a time when the sun stared Cathy right in the face. About a half-hour into the show, an audience member loaned her some sunglasses, which she wore the remainder of the performance. |

Two things made the show stand out: A series of guest jazz performers joined her on stage for various numbers (no images of them) ... and a spontaneous bit of dancing, instigated by Cathy, in the green open area in front of the stage during an instrumental number early in the program. |

| | Bees -- nature's pollinators | | They're doing their thing, flocking to the few remaining blooms that survived a mid-October frost: my backyard broccoli plants. This shoot actually started innocently: I was simply trying to gauge the quality of bokeh on my 105mm macro lens at its widest apertures. But once I started shooting, I couldn't stop. If you're interested in reading the full story on the shoot, visit my blog post on it at http://photopotpourri.blogspot.com/2009/10/send-in-clouds-er-bees.html |

| | Autumn Vistas | | Displays and arrays of brilliant fall colors, including a handul of spectacular backlighted trees. |
| | Autumn Reds | | The color red is a somewhat overlooked hue in the brilliant autumn spectrum. Not so here. Autumn reds are featured in this collection of photographs. |
| | Architecture & Buildings | | Verdant greens, tapestry-patterned skies and ocean blues aren't always what define beautiful landscapes. The marvel of architecture and spectacle of distinguished buildings plays a key role, too. |
| | Tines art | | Images developed and inspired by tine figures (forks). |
| | Miscellaneous | | A collection of images that don't fit into the other categories. I'm likely to be tweaking -- adding and subtracting -- the contents of this folder quite frequently, so ... check back often. |
